Understand the businesses behind your region

Explore business activity at the city, county, state, or national level across the United States. Connect an area’s industry mix and recent changes with the businesses and records behind them.

Explore an area through its businesses

Start with a region and examine the companies operating within it. Filter the businesses you want to understand, view their locations on a map, and open profiles to investigate their capabilities, contacts, and available records.

See the patterns in your results

Use insights to examine how a group of businesses is distributed across industries, counties, cities, and founding periods. Explore broad patterns, then narrow your attention to the companies that contribute to them. Bring relevant charts and tables into a report.

By decade founded: 403 businesses from the 2010s, 276 from the 2020s, 214 from the 2000s, followed by earlier founding decades, with counts and percentages.

Follow business activity

Review new registrations, recorded dissolutions, and other business updates. Investigate the companies behind relevant changes and use flags to follow events or conditions that matter to you. In-platform notifications help bring new matches to your attention.

Changes, newest first: six fictionalized business names alongside new registrations, recorded dissolutions and a mine safety citation, with locations and relative dates.

Connect regional capabilities to a project

Identify businesses that could support a project, investment, or sourcing need. Build a tailored list with relevant capabilities, potential roles, and assessments of fit. Use the findings to prepare outreach, demonstrate regional capacity, or explore gaps that need further investigation.

Control what your results include

Choose whether to include companies that have not yet been assigned an industry, headquarters listed at registration hubs, or secondary NAICS codes in industry searches.

These options make the scope of your results explicit. Maps and overview counts continue to use processed businesses; the option to show unprocessed companies adds them to Explore’s list and Regional Activity.

Data options for companies not yet processed, headquarters at registration hubs and secondary NAICS codes. All three example switches are off.
