EcosAtlas discovers, verifies, and structures business information from publicly available sources. Every field includes verification metadata so you can judge freshness and provenance.

Discovery
We identify businesses through multiple sources: state business registrations, industry directories, and web search. Each business is assigned a unique identifier and added to our database.
Sources: Secretary of State filings, industry associations, government databases

Extraction
Our proprietary algorithms gather information from publicly available sources and structure it into searchable fields: description, services, certifications, locations, and roles listed on employer career pages.
Fields: Name, NAICS codes, certifications, services, products, locations, jobs

Inference
Beyond explicit information, we infer likely capabilities based on industry, equipment, and expertise signals. For example, a machine shop serving aerospace customers likely has precision machining capability.

Verification Metadata
Every field includes metadata: last-checked timestamp, confidence signal, and source. You can see exactly when each field was last verified and where the information came from.

Ongoing Refresh
We continuously revisit sources and refresh fields when new information is available. Our system tracks all changes over time, so you can see the history of updates for any business.
